The Industrial Cyber Forum seeks to engage and provide the ICS community with in-depth discussions, provide a platform to share knowledge, and lead discussions while exchanging experiences and lessons learned.

The forum will provide an online meeting place to discuss current events affecting the ICS community, provide hands-on experience and create a close-knit community that reaches out and helps one another. Peer replies should be thoughtful, reflective, and respectful while prompting further discussion using content knowledge, relevant information on the topic, and critical thinking skills.

Below is a basic ‘Behavioral Guide’ to help members engage with one another, derive benefit from the interaction, and contribute in a meaningful manner.

  1. Non-commercial approach: The Industrial Cyber Forum discussions aim to be a vendor-neutral platform, driven to help the ICS community. It is further desirable for vendors within the community to not use the forum discussions to promote and market their products.
  2. No derogatory remarks: Discussions on the forum must be respectful, offer assistance, with the ultimate intention of being fruitful. Posts that offend or hurt any other member in an offensive or inflammatory manner will be removed by the administrators. Comments must be polite and constructive to the members of the ICS community, and any racial, gender-based insults or any other personal discriminations will not be tolerated.
  3. Substantial content: The forum discussions aim to continue a conversation and provide avenues for further dialogue. It is intentional for the topics to be topical, provide relevant and accurate information, and drive conversations to enable the exchange of opinions and ideas amongst forum members. Members are requested to avoid usage of all caps.
  4. Language: The Industrial Cyber Forum caters to a global audience. Keeping this in mind, the preferred language for communication is English. Members are further requested to keep their discussions free of emoticons, hashtags, and other such syntax.
  5. Concise: It is desirable for posts to be grammatically-correct, concise, and clear so that the message goes out distinctly and in a concise manner. Further, members are also encouraged to share valuable insights and hands-on experience, to help others adopt similar techniques in their operating environments. It is also appropriate for members to refrain from using acronyms and abbreviations, as they can be misunderstood by the global audience.
  6. Copyright: Industrial Cyber prohibits the posting of any copyrighted material as part of the forum discussions, and retains the right to remove such content as detected. Members are encouraged to cite their sources and provide proper attribution, instead of merely posting a link to another document or source.
  7. Privacy Concerns: As the Industrial Cyber Forum is a ‘by-invitation’ private forum, members are encouraged to share information that they know about to the best of their knowledge at the time of posting. Speculative or desirable comments must be avoided.
  8. Reporting Posts: Members are encouraged to immediately report to the administrators those posts which can be misconstrued as undesirable, potentially leading to a negative impact on the ICS community.
  9. Industrial Cyber retains the right to remove posts, images, and shared documents that the administrators deem as unnecessary and unreasonable.
  10. Prohibition of Reproduction: The forum discussions remain a part of Industrial Cyber’s copyright. No part(s) of the forum discussion can be reproduced or hosted on other websites or magazines, without prior written permission from the publication.
