Hexagon and Dragos announce technical alliance to boost industrial cybersecurity, reduce overall OT cyber risk

Dragos and Hexagon have joined forces to provide industrial organizations with the comprehensive visibility and context of ICS/OT (industrial control systems/operational technology) assets to help reduce overall OT cyber risk. The technical partnership focuses on integrating the complementary OT cybersecurity capabilities of the Dragos Platform and Hexagon’s PAS Cyber Integrity to provide customers with enhanced inventory data, comprehensive configuration management, and superior intrusion detection and threat management to protect businesses operating in multiple critical infrastructure sectors. The collaboration is expected to harness the respective strengths, industry insights, and spirit of Dragos and Hexagon.

The Dragos OT Cybersecurity Platform analyzes OT network traffic to help end users understand what ICS/OT assets are active on the network, and to help identify threats. The Dragos Platform utilizes different methods of threat detection, focusing on threat behaviors, and upon detection, the Platform provides best-practice guidance to respond before a significant event occurs. Dragos passively analyzes multiple data sources using OT-specific protocols, network traffic, data historians, host logs, asset characterizations, and baseline comparisons to provide improved visibility of ICS/OT environments.

The PAS Cyber Integrity solution delivers OT asset discovery leveraging configuration file parsing. The joint solution combines the merits of both technologies to provide deeper-level asset visibility to help asset owners and operators achieve their goals for OT asset management, change and configuration management, vulnerability management, threat detection, and policy compliance.

PAS Cyber Integrity automates inventory data collection and management for control system assets – down to Level 0. Cyber Integrity collects OT asset inventory information for multiple cross-vendor OT systems –not by capturing network traffic, but by backing up and interpreting system configuration files and databases. This includes detailed configuration data on I/O cards, control strategies, installed software, and firmware for all major control systems regardless of vendor.
