Mandiant, Nozomi expand alliance to deliver advanced OT, IoT threat intelligence and response

OT and IoT security vendor Nozomi Networks announced Thursday an expansion of its partnership with cyber threat intelligence firm Mandiant. The move will enable industrial and enterprise customers to protect critical business operations from IT and OT (operational technology) cyber threats through anticipation, diagnosis, and response.

As part of the deal, Mandiant expanded the number of certified Nozomi Networks experts on its global OT incident response team and will utilize Nozomi Networks’ solutions to further forensic analysis and incident assessments. By combining their market position in OT, IT, and IoT cybersecurity, Nozomi Networks and Mandiant are bringing a new level of cyber defenses to critical infrastructure organizations worldwide.

The companies are also investing in a new initiative that will include threat intelligence sharing and joint security research, and plan to introduce custom-designed incident response and assessment programs for joint customers.

Building on the partnership that started in 2016, these new initiatives further reinforce the companies’ shared vision of increasing the security of ICS (industrial control systems).

“When it comes to critical infrastructure security, being able to diagnose threats and respond quickly are necessary to keep business running,” Edgard Capdevielle, Nozomi Networks CEO, said in a media statement. “But addressing IT and OT requirements is complex and requires collaboration. That’s why we’re teaming with Mandiant to bring the industry’s best IT and OT threat intelligence teams and technologies together for the best possible defense, without compromise.”

“Government organizations and critical infrastructure worldwide rely on Nozomi Networks and Mandiant for cybersecurity,” Marshall Heilman, global chief technology officer at Mandiant, said. “Our partnership strengthens cyber defenses without compromise at a time when operational resilience has never been more important.”

Earlier this month, Nozomi partnered with Industrial Defender to combine asset visibility and threat detection capabilities from Nozomi Networks with change and configuration monitoring from Industrial Defender to provide a complete and detailed view of OT assets and behavior in the industry. The offering blends network monitoring, vulnerability management, and threat detection with endpoint configuration management capabilities to protect critical OT environments.
