Vendor News: Dragos expands its European presence

Industrial cybersecurity company Dragos announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its presence in Europe by providing the region with the Dragos Platform, threat intelligence, and services including incident response to industrial and critical infrastructure organizations.

As industrial networks grow more integrated and homogeneous, cyber adversaries will have an easier time targeting and infecting key systems at scale. Dragos aims to help critical infrastructures defend against adversaries by enabling access to Dragos cybersecurity technology and expertise and detecting and responding to incidents quickly.

According to Dragos, they have identified 605 ransomware attacks against industrial organizations, an increase of 87 percent over the previous year. These attacks bring about the need for operational technology (OT) specific cybersecurity for businesses to protect their assets and society.

“With the current geopolitical environment, the increase in ransomware, and exposures recently introduced through hybrid workforces, the cyber threat to industrial organizations has never been greater,” said Tony Atkins, area vice president for Europe and Africa at Dragos.

He added that “Our continued expansion in Europe will enable us to not just be a better partner with organizations in the region to ensure they are successful in their industrial cybersecurity journey, but also to help foster the local ICS/OT cybersecurity practitioner community through ongoing education and engagement.”

This announcement follows Dragos’ most recent Dragos Europe Forum, where members of the OT community from 16 nations attended the forum to talk and learn from experts and cyber security specialists in the business. These discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the vulnerabilities that exist in the industrial landscape, the examination of OT event responses, and the implementation of security procedures to address prospective difficulties.
