OPSWAT launches initial CIP Lab in Tokyo in collaboration with Net One Partners

OPSWAT, StarLink partner to boost cybersecurity defenses for MEA's critical infrastructure

Critical infrastructure protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions company OPSWAT and IT distributor Net One Partners announced the opening of a CIP Lab in Tokyo, Japan. The CIP Lab, hosted at Net One Systems, is the first of its kind in the region and represents a ‘significant milestone’ in OPSWAT’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity in critical industries.

The CIP Lab serves as a dedicated resource for mapping operational technology (OT) data flow, OPSWAT’s IT and OT cybersecurity capabilities, and a valuable learning hub for OPSWAT’s partners, customers, and employees. It aims to highlight OPSWAT’s zero-trust solutions’ ability to detect, analyze, and mitigate malware and zero-day attacks while providing insights into how a customer’s specific environment might respond to potential threats.

“The dynamic ICS threat landscape continues to evolve, with critical infrastructure becoming a prime target for zero-day attacks,” Atsushi Takamatsu, country general manager for Japan at OPSWAT, said in a Friday media statement. “The establishment of the CIP Lab is a testament to OPSWAT and Net One Partners’ commitment to strengthening cybersecurity within the critical infrastructure sectors. We believe that by fostering collaborative learning and showcasing our advanced solutions, we can empower organizations to proactively secure their OT environments.”

“Net One Partners is very pleased to announce that we are collaborating with OPSWAT to establish a CIP lab in our Innovation Center (called ‘netone valley’),” according to Takuya Tanaka, CEO of Net One Partners. “The lab will serve not only as a demonstration space, but also as a place for co-creation between OPSWAT, our company, and our partners to explore new markets such as manufacturing, utilities, and public sector, where OT security needs have been high in recent years, and to take the first step toward further growth and development. We hope to be the first step toward further growth and development.”

The CIP Lab in Tokyo is replicated in OPSWAT offices worldwide and at industry events. Attendees at the upcoming Security Days event from October 17-20 in Tokyo can experience the CIP Lab firsthand at the OPSWAT booth, underscoring OPSWAT’s commitment to promoting awareness and making CIP training accessible worldwide.

The lab is also available for demonstration and training at the Net One Systems facility. OPSWAT’s Japan business expansion and partnership with Net One Partners earlier this year laid the foundation for this milestone, and the company is committed to further expanding its presence in the region and meeting the growing demand for zero-trust solutions.

Earlier this week, OPSWAT debuted its CIP lab at the GovWare event in Singapore. The OPSWAT CIP lab is the ‘embodiment’ of OPSWAT’s dedication to innovation and excellence in cybersecurity. It enables users to experience firsthand how its solutions integrate seamlessly into both IT and OT environments, providing comprehensive protection without compromising operational efficiency.
